About Your Doctor

Being up-to-date in the latest orthodontic techniques and treatments for pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients has always been a priority for Dr. Mullen. He is well versed in Invisalign and self-ligating bracket systems that can reduce treatment time and increase patient comfort, and uses the latest technologies in orthodontics to maximize smile aesthetics and give the best possible results to his patients.  He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, an achievement earned only by about 25% of practicing orthodontists.

Dr. Mullen grew up in Springfield, Virginia as the oldest of four children. He went to the University of Virginia and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He then attended the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. While attending MCV, he was a member of Psi Omega dental fraternity and received the Fraternal Achievement award; an award given to the senior student who showed the most outstanding service during their four years of school. Dr. Mullen was also inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a dental honor society whose members are chosen by the faculty of the dental school. He then completed a three-year orthodontic residency at West Virginia University, and earned a Masters of Science in Orthodontics.

Dr. Mullen is a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, and is a member of several dental and orthodontic study clubs.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Association of Orthodontists, and is line to serve as President of that group in several years.  Living and working in Leesburg with his wife and three young children, Dr. Mullen enjoys hiking, tennis, competing in triathlons, and mountain bike racing.

Donna Meacham-Office Manager
I have been with the practice for four years and thoroughly enjoy working with all of our
patients and their families. I live in Lovettsville with my husband Bruce, our four children
and our german shepherd, Tanya. Most days you can find me cheering on one of my kids
at a sporting event!

Jessie Carrillo-Orthodontic Assistant
I've been working as an orthodontic assistant for twelve years. What I love the most
about my job is being a part of bringing beautiful smiles to all of our patients. I love
spending time with my family, learning Italian and photography.
